I feel old - how do I install mods in 2.7.5?

Hi everyone, I can't figure out how to get my cockpit mods working in 2.7.5.

I use OVGMe and have tried installing into Saved Games/DCS folder (no idea about the correct folder structure in there though) and into the main game folder like I always used to but I cannot get my mods to show up.

I can see that the files have been copied into this folder but the textures don't show up in game.

Example below from a Mod that I'm trying to install.
If anyone can provide clear and simple instructions, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you,
Toby

Walk it back from the DCS World OpenBeta root install or DCS  World OpenBeta Saved Games folder to mimic the directory structure that your "mod" modifies.

Examples:

Root install location:

E:\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Liveries\AV8BNA  (Location in the "DCS root install" folder location for adding a Harrier skin. Before all you "experts" jump me, this is just being used as a simple example. I fully know the Saved Games\Liveries structure is the ideal place for custom liveries! )

In OvGME you would browse to the E:\DCS World OpenBeta folder and create that as the storage location and then package your mod in the folder structure of CoreMods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Liveries\AV8BNA\VMA-123  ( VMA-123 would be your hypothetical new Harrier skin).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saved Games install location:

C:\Your Computer Name\Your User Name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech  (Location where you would drop a ship mod, for example)

In OvGME you would browse to the C:\Your Computer Name\Your User Name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta folder and create that as the storage location and then package your mod in the folder structure of Mods\tech\CVN-123  ( CVN-123  would be your hypothetical new carrier mod).

Attached is a powerpoint presentation and all the needed files to complete a "DCS World OpenBeta root install" mod using OvGME.

I hope you find this useful.

Cheers,

Much appreciated, thank you very much. You might have seen in my screenshot that the mod was packaged correctly ( I think) for the root DCS folder and the files copied across with OVGMe, they just wouldn't appear in game. I managed to get Devrim's cockpit texture mods working now too, thanks. Not sure why I can't use my files any more though..

Whenever a mod fails me, I try to implement/install/copy manually. If that works I know my mod package is incorrectly made, (always paths), and I re-package it.
If doing at manually doesn't work, I have placed in the wrong path Core/Saved Games, or mods/liveries (as a lot of cockpit stuff goes different places).
Or the mod just doesn't work in most recent OpenBeta.
Cheers!

just to be clear, we generally all use OVGME , not for our saved-games folder (which you can do, but its really not needed), but specifically for the main install folder.  The whole point of OVGME is how we can disable the mods, whenever we update DCS (which overwrites everything it finds) and then we renable them afterwards.  Saved Games folder is never overwritten by updating of the game so its kind of pointless.  (its not entirely. my squadron uses it to distribute liveries. you can have multiple contexts for OVGME but you dont need to use it, and can just always put files in your saved games folder without fear of them ever being erased.)

Well, inspite of all your help, I still can't get my coloured Shkval mod to show up in game.

It copies across to the correct folder, using OVGMe, but refuses to show up in game, which leads me to believe that some textures are now 'hidden'.

Which mod is it exactly?
I might try it myself, even though I have up on the colored Shkval mods, as they all crashed my DCS.

That looks good Toby.  but im not sure about that comma-character in the file and folder name.  try removing that.  sometimes special characters and file/folder names arent supported.
