I was thinking that for those of us with limited space that this could would, but I am not convinced.

Any thoughts?

Well, it kinda depends...

I guess if you want to fly DCS with just a keyboard and mouse (some people actually do that 😋), this chair might be ok.

Here's a few reasons why I personally wouldn't go for this option:

  • If you want to use a HOTAS, you'd need an additional panel on the left arm rest for the throttle
  • The mouse-pad on the left arm rest seems a little small to both fit a joystick and a mouse
  • By the looks of it, you can't lower the arm rests, which would mean that the actual HOTAS grips would be way to high for comfort
  • In case of using the keyboard pad to fit a center stick, that construction doesn't really look very sturdy (looks too flexible) and, well, where would you then put your keyboard...
  • Again very personally, but I would never go for a rotating chair on wheels for DCS, as this would not be convenient in combination with rudder pedals

It all depends a lot on how "hardcore" you want to go. If you want to occasionally fly around and fire some missiles using just a joystick, mouse and keyboard, this chair could probably work.

If you want a more long term/permanent solution, have you considered a DIY chair? 😃

(check my signature 😉)

Good points Sirrah. Your layout looks good

I had considered replacing the plastic tray with wood to widen the surface area.   This would allow a throttle and mouse and stick.  Then the strength of the metal and clamp becomes even more important.  I have to use the same chair for flight sim and pc stuff.

I have to figure something out soon.  Really annoying dropping things from my lap.

Just cut some tennis balls in half and put them on the wheels. Problem solved, cheap n' easy. 😉

The wheels "problem", yes. But how about the chair swivel?

I'd double check if the swivel can be locked

Ah, very true. I somehow assumed it can be locked...
