Does the Autopilot chanel for Altitude realy switch off in irl when then the collective is moved or the collective brake is pushed ?

i believe the chanel is only switched to „standby“ while the collective brake is pushed and the collective is moved.
after this it Switches to back to on.

Same thing for the Mi-8 IIRC.

The official manual for Ka-50 says the collective brake temporarily disengages the Alt Hold mode in order to set the new reference altitude, i.e. much the same as the cyclic trim function, only difference being that the cyclic trim actually works as intended. I guess this is the function of the codebase inherited by all other choppers all the way from Ka-50. Won't be surprised if the Apache won't have it as well.

Mi-8 and Mi-24 altitude hold does in fact turn off completely when the collective brake is pressed, and must be reengaged after moving the collective and setting the new desired altitude.
