cannot 'unconfine' cursor to game

Since I got a VR headset, I found 'confine cursor to game' to be a help in preventing 'window out of focus' problems.

 

However, I need to do some training on a new module so i have to watch some videos while DCS is running. I do not use VR for this. So now in DCS I have to alt-tab to get to my browser on the other monitor. No amount of clicking and unclicking the 'confine cursor to game' in the VR tab of the settings dialog can change this confining behavior. Can someone give me a solution?
