Preendog Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 (edited) Sorry if already answered, is it known how a single player will control the Apache? ie. Can the player switch seats in flight, will there be a Jester/Petrovich, or something else? Also, is there anything essential that the backseater can do, that the pilot can't? NWGJulian Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 pretty sure you can swap seats. the AI is called george, and will be mostly like petrovic in the hind i guess. however i dont think you will be able to swap seats in multiplayer, but thats not really necessary if multicrew works good
Remco Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 The best solo experience is probably just starting from the back (or letting ai start) and then just fly from the front. That said, between cyclic + collective + TEDAC you'll have a Lot of keys to bind, since I suspect most people who multicrew will bind the TEDAC controls to their hotas for when they are in the front seat.
Preendog Posted October 9, 2021 Author Posted October 9, 2021 (edited) Thanks guys. About targeting camera, I'm reading different things in different treads, or don't understand. Can pilot move the targeting camera and lase? It's a lot of controls but Ka-50 does it, and I don't trust any AI that aims stuff after getting shot at by friendly F-14s so much online. As a sight the Pilot station does not have access to the MTADs, if you want to use the tads as a sight and utilize the laser functionality you must be in the front seat. However it's largely up to how the AI is incorporated into the game on how this is represented to you guys. Edited October 9, 2021 by kgillers3

Problem solved... Xbox controller for the TDAC on my side 1
Preendog Posted October 9, 2021 Author Posted October 9, 2021 Ok, I strangely thought the guy in the front seat was the pilot, thanks kgillers3. So, the front seat CPG can operate the flight controls, camera, laser and weapons, but has to ask backseat pilot to start engines. And single players don't have to fear being locked out of vital systems and can preorder (?)

Yeah so different nations accomplish this differently, but for us anyways both stations are pilots, doing just a VFR cross country they'll transfer the controls quite a bit. During engagements BS is typically flying and FS is typically responsible for targeting. You can fully fly from either seat.
