Google Authenticator

Been trying to log in using Google Auth (DCS World web site) . None of the codes generated are accepted.  Can I please  have that feature turned off on my account.

@BIGNEWYRelated to the topic's title, I'm not a fan of the Google Authenticator, but I'd like to have a 2way authentication for my DCS account.

 

Are there any plans to provide other methods like SMS or mail in the future?

Was unable to get this to work. Can't buy my Christmas present. Why? is this here , because someone might fly my f18.

You can use other apps as the authenticator. If WinAuth is one that works on the PC. It'll give you the same numbers as a genuine google authenticator, without having to have a 'google app'. There are tonnes of 3rd party 2FA authenticators available for your phone that you can use in place of the Google Authenticator as well. They use the same algorithm as the google authenticator, so DCS/your account won't know the difference. Handy if you want to remain 'de-googled' but still need the authenticator.

YES!!  People were abusing the trials system to fly for free so ED went to this rather than just remove the option entirely.  Is it a perfect solution?  Obviously not, but it's the best they've been able to come up with to allow trials and minimize abuse so it's a good solution.

And if you're not using any trials you should (can't say for sure, but I think it's the case) be able to turn it off on your account.

It should be possible to use keepass2 instead of mobile app. They are essentially TOTP compliant and the only thing needed is secret seed used to derive time based codes.

Just to confirm that I manage to use the Keepass2. You need the secret seed (remove spaces) that you can get on reconfigure screen of your account.

Note: this is not officially supported, but it is an alternative if you do not wish to have Microsoft/Google Authenticator on your phone.

One hint to ED: if I need to login to both username/password and code in web browser, the page reloads which makes it tricky to login on mobile device.
