Dave317 Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 I've just built myself a new PC that appears to running very well and a lot faster than before. I only play in VR now with Reverb G1 but keep getting Steam VR crashes which obviously means I need to restart DCS every time. I've tried both stable and beta versions of Steam VR and they both crash. The only thing I can see is a program called 360 degree video is present in the task manager when it crashes which wasn't there before. Could this be the cause and how do I go about fixing it?
Rix Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Same here - just did a complete new OS install, never had this issue with SteamVR before, and haven't found the solution. Rix 4090 - 5800X3D - Aero
Dave317 Posted October 28, 2021 Author Posted October 28, 2021 Tried again today and couldn't get a through a single mission without steam vr crashing. Didn't happen before my upgrade and subsequent fresh windows 10 install.

Tried opting out of WMR beta? That one used to give me fits with causing SVR to crash. Dave317 Posted October 29, 2021 Author Posted October 29, 2021 (edited) Oh thats not good to hear. Is there any log files or anything than might help pin down what's going on. I've spent thousands on my PC and it's one problem after another with getting this sim to work without any faults. Edited October 29, 2021 by Dave317
Sr. Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 I rolled back DCS to pre patch... haven't had a SVR crash since. Sile Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 I had my first ever steamvr crash yesterday flying marianas in the most recent beta. Not sure what to think of it. There also was a steamvr update yesterday or the day before.
Dave317 Posted October 30, 2021 Author Posted October 30, 2021 I din't think it's SteamVR itself as I can play IL2 for ages and it doesn't crash at all.
Dave317 Posted November 1, 2021 Author Posted November 1, 2021 It's working again! I deleted SteamVR and WMR for Steam and deleted any remains of it on my hard drive. Opened Steam and they propmted my to download both of them. I've just played a 2 hour mission and no crashes at all. All is well again.
