RagnarBSE Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Hi Gentlemen! which are the values for magnetic declination for all maps in DCS? Thx all in advance
Recoil16 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 That is not a question we can give you the answer to as the values change depending on the mission date. Everybody said: "That's impossible!" Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it. Flying the A-10C for the 107th Joint Aviation Squadron Developing and creating missions for Through The Inferno Join the TTI Discord
RagnarBSE Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) Ok, thx, so there is a website or others resources where i can find magnetic declination about date? the change of magnetic declination on maps in DCS in functions of date is modelled? Edited November 3, 2021 by RagnarBSE
Recoil16 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 You can use NOAA's Magnetic Field Calculator (https://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag/calculators/magcalc.shtml) to get a general idea, but to get a relatively precise sense of what the magvar is in DCS, on a given date, at a given location I would plop down an A-10C in the given mission and open the "POSINFO" page on the CDU. That gives you the easiest way to figure out the magvar for a specific usecase imo. Everybody said: "That's impossible!" Then someone came along who didn't know that and just did it.
