Anti-Aliasing failed with Fullscreen size !

Hi everybody !

My first post here and I want to ask a question about AA.

Everytime I run BS with Fullscreen resolution ( 1440 x 900, max setting except water & all planar ), the game'll get no AA. If I uncheck the fullscreen choice over the Graphics panel and re-apply all options at the ATI Control panel ( I'm using HIS turbo 4850 ATI card ) BS will run normally with AA on. Lock On is having this problem but I managed to overcome with this trick.

my spec : E2160@3.0Ghz, ATI 4840, 2 Gig Ram ...

Does anyone know how to fix this ?

btw : I've updated VGA driver with lastest version.:helpsmilie::(

Thank you !

Have the same problem with my GTX 260 running forceware 178.83. No matter how much AA i set it's always the same. Used to work with my old 6600GT and veeery old nvidia drivers (smth like 96.etc)

Are you setting this in game?

Remember your graphics card uses profiles that can basically override or ignore anything a game is telling it to do and do what NV/ATI told it to do in this situation.

I would suggest you setup your own profile for the game and force it override the game settings.

If you are overriding the game settings and it's doing it I have no idea.

No, i set AA via Nv driver which basically must force the game to work with this settings. I tried with general profile and custom profiles for FC and BS respectivly but got no result

Thanks for the link! I've already visited guru3d and have the latest drivers. Maybe i should check it out ones more for 180 beta... Btw, is anisatropic filtering now removed from nv drivers? Couldn't find this option in the nv control panel

The 180 went WHQL the other day, it's 180.48, get over the NVidia website and work through the driver page.

Nope the anisatropic filtering is still there. Your setting up your settings in the "manage 3D settings" page aren't you?

BTW a word of note, this driver release changed my upscaling mode, so watch that and switch it back if needed.

Lucky I looked at this thread, I didn't notice the new drivers where out until now. BTW this is what nHancer does, seems better then the nvidia control panel and easier to use for me...

Feature Overview

  • Support of Forceware/GeForce drivers version 60 and later, including the new 177+ versions
  • Support of all GeForce cards, including the new GeForce GTX 2x0lines
  • Supports Windows Vista and DirectX 10
  • Support for single card, SLI, Quad-SLI and DirectX 10 SLI systems
  • On-the-fly control of all global quality and performance-enhancing settings for all games
  • Create and manage fully automated profiles for all your games
  • Very easy to use, explains all options and their effects, like Anti Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering, etc.
  • Special options for nVidia's SLI feature, allowing you to to use almost every game with SLI even if nVidia doesn't support it
  • Offers additional Anti Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering modes, that are not available through nVidia's control panel
  • Allows the modification of fixed settings included in nVidia's predefined profiles.
  • Flexible user interface: change the size of the window and all sub areas
  • User interface and help texts available in various languages (right now English, German, Polish and Italian)
  • Coexists perfectly with nVidia's own control panel and other tools, like aTuner or RivaTuner. nHancer will immediately detect any changes made by any other tool.

I want to try the latest Forceware driver mentioned here -- the 180 but I have a question. On the nvidia driver's page, it wanted me to select my GF card series (mine is 7600) so does this mean that I can only use specific driver for my card or can I use any of the Forceware drivers?

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

If you work through the options whatever the latest release (remember there are beta's below in red that may have a later date than the WHQL drivers.

The drivers tend to work with multiple graphics cards but if yours isn't in the list of compatible cards then it won't work, not sure if it will actually let it install as I have never tried it.

However the nvidia drivers page is quite good and if there is a driver that will work for your card it will be in there.

The newest Nvidia WHQL drivers are the 180.48. I'm running them on a gfx 260 and 64bit vista and xp pro. The DV is a little funky and resets it's self. The driver was designed for 8800 series and above. Should work with other cards. If not you can get a modded set at http://www.guru3d.com For those in search of older drivers, here's a link to nvidia's ftp site

With latest 180.48 WHQL AA and anisatropic filtering have finally started working on my system. The full screen is no longer a problem. Thanks for help!

There is ATI Tray Tools v1.0 looks similar nHancer and works very well!

hope this help.

-LuKariello-

Thank you Ciniko. I'll try this.

Few days ago I removed the whole ATI drivers and reinstall driver from the original disc. The game's been running good until now. I think something wrong with the update releases from ATI website.

The most thing disturbs me now is fanspeed control, I still have to config fanspeed thru manual profile .

I have the 180.48 driver and nhancer with my GTX280. But AA does not work at all in fullscreen. Havn't tried it in window mode. Anyone using nhancer, can you please tell me what *.exe do you refer to in your nhancer profile?

I really need AA!

My system is Windows XP

So this is really bad! I cant get AA to work.

I have tried it all. Fullscreen, window mode... no luck.

Forced AA global with nhancer - No AA

Forced AA profile with nhancer - No AA

Set AA in the driver gobal - No AA

Have no problems with other games.

Why is there no ingame option for AA?

I dont believe that this is a bug with the 280 GTX only.

Anyone with a 280 here?

Please!
