Dave62ndFF Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 I just tried using target points set from the F10 map (and loaded on the ground) for the first time. On the first sortie I set up mark points for T00 then valid targets T01 - T06. These were successfully loaded into the Harrier's nav system as T1-T6. I using GBU-38s I engaged T1-T4 in one target area, followed by T5-T6 in a different target area. This all went well and I went back to base a re-arm & re-fuel. I then deleted the existing markpoints on the F10 map & created markpoints T00, then T01 & T02 for the actual targets. After loading these on the ground I expected to have a new T1 &T2, however what I got was T7 & T8. I flew a second sortie & successfully engaged T7 & T8 without issue, This however left me wondering if there was a way to clear the list of target points between sorties? The system seemed to support T1 - T9 & maybe an X. 1
Vakarian Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 When you go on CAS page, then RCALL, you will see ODU button which says ERASE I believe. With that, you can delete entries in the aircraft system. Also, you can have 15 entries, but you have control on which of those will actually be a targetpoint (T1, T2, ...) for when you go on CAS page, you use "USE" OSB button and then on UFC you enter the number of the targetpoint you want that entry to represent. You have to understand that F10 map and Harrier CAS page is one-way relationship and that is F10 map -> Harrier. The aircraft has no knowledge of which marker did you delete or add on the F10 map, it just "downloads" the coordinates to next available entry on CAS page and it's up to you to decide what to do it. Also, as you did it on the ground the system automatically assigns each entry its own targetpoint, but if you do it in the air only the entry will be made and you will have to make that entry the targetpoint. 3
AlphaJuliet Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 Hello, what @Vakarianis describing is the right procedure to apply to use target points. Know that you cannot erase the tgt input into the EHSD, but you can overwrite them by assigning the numbers already used in the EHSD to new lines in the RCALL page, using the USE OSB button in the CAS page. 1
Dave62ndFF Posted November 12, 2021 Author Posted November 12, 2021 Thank you for the assistance. I just flew another couple of sorties to try things out, loading up new CAS entries both while in the air and on the ground. Using RCALL from the CAS page, then the ERASE ODU button, did the trick I was looking for which was to remove the used entries from the system.
MrYeti Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 Ahh, I’ve wanted to do this too. Thanks for asking the question.
F1GHTS-ON Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 And a good advert for good housekeeping. I.e.if playing in Multiplayer and other players have used the same naming conventions for their targets (T01 etc) then your case page will pick these up. The reference to good housekeeping is to take the time and delete your entries from the F10 map after you've loaded up into CASpage......encouraging others to do the same. 1
