The noctura actually seems to cool it better even though its just an "on" setting running of the MB header - no idea about the rpm but its quiet.  - I also added some thermal pads under the plate as it seemed the initial heatpipe of the mini version design was not as good as it could be so i think the warrantly has been long voided! - ah, those halcion days where if you bust a gpu you just bought another for £250..........:-)

600£+ for a used board that used to cost 500£ three years ago is madness, desperation!

I remember very well back in 2018 when, after countless failed bids on ebay, I finally paid 132£ for my 1070TI, and the 1080ti was selling for about 500£

@nikita_nomadthat Cooler Master PSU you have. Just check the exact model number and have an do an internet search for how many amps are on the 12v rail. Then check the 3070ti and check how many it requires. Its how I check if I have enough juice for a new GPU.

Cheers man, I didn't know about it. But I suppose 3060ti or 3070 should fit either way? And I've jump on that stock alert page for FE card. Fingers crossed then

Yeah dude, you should be fine. However better safe and all that. Checking the wattage, efficiency and the amps on the 12v rail is the proper way to check you have enough juice.

The old links from the telegram FE alerts thread worked yesterday but today return a message from scan stating they are blocked by security. Eu links still work fine. Could be just a thing but a heads up for the future.

just whilst I’m here. Is the idea that we click on a link when and if the new stock  arrives and order? Is it that simple? Is there anything else we need to do to increase our chances like associate accounts to the browser or such shizzum? 
 

Ah I long for the days when camping outside somewhere for an unreasonably long period guaranteed you something (3 days outside HMV Manchester for the Joshua Tree for instance- yes I was first- yes I was the only one in the queue until 9am on the morning of release but that’s not the point! I had certainty  )   

I’m new to the hobby of online competitive buying. Can’t say I like it.

That's normal for the scan links :)

The links are killed after a while, I suspect once all of the stock is gone they delete the page and recreate a new one when the stock arrives, I think it's to help combat the bots buying stock up.

There'll be nothing nothing nothing, notification comes in and the telegram links will take you straight to the scan page for whichever you click on. Be quick!

Yup, unfortunately it's just a waiting game for the next three weeks. The drops have been monthly since I've been watching them and I got one on the first drop.

Don't forget that's also people like me that can't be arsed to unsubscribe from the channel. Set the telegram notification on your phone to be really loud and a different sound to normal so you make sure you get it

Thats true, but based on supply and assuming the subsription has been running since the launch thats still only about 12 of you who got something  

not even sure Ive set it up correctly - its there in my chats section so I assume Im subscribed. Sadly its an iphone so I cant set specific sounds for the app apparently. All I can really do is turn everythng else off but tbh, I dont really need to know to someone I couldnt give a shi about has booked into a health spa on faceache or meglo or whatever its calling itself now so......double bonus!!

It all depends on the quality of your power supply, there is a difference between guaranteed constant power delivery and pick power delivery, I got a Corsair 750W and I'm sure of 750W delivered on a pernament basis, which is not the case of many cheaper power supply units, quality lways come with a price.

For those considering jumping on the GPU upgrade merry go round, I grabbed the 3070 FE for £469 and my 1070 has just sold on eBay for £341. It's a sellers market.

You know on ebay I've noticed people put in description to their gpu listing that serial number has been recorded as a scam protection. Have you done anything like that and what kind of scam can there even be? If you know anything?

I would guess that they have the same GPU that's broken, buy yours, claim it's arrived broken, get a refund and send their broken card in place.

I have recorded the serial number and physically identifying marks on the board/backplate so hopefully will be covered.

It's a risk that you have to be aware of with all things I guess. But ideally the buyer should have good feedback.

Awesome, saw the drop last night for the 80ti and 90 and then the following this morning.  They're not hard to get hold of, just got to be patient!

Assuming it was the scan.co.uk site then I think it should have been a green button saying "buy now for £45,000,000" or similar; I think there is a bit of a limbo period once they're allocated but not all paid before it will say out of stock, perhaps you were looking at it then.  The 3080ti and 3090 stock from last night hung around for a good hour, I think the cheaper cards are more in demand though.
