Not sure if it´s a bug so please close it if it´s correct.

Copilot position, sight cover open (observe switch), missile selected, authorization light and sound, missile fired and impact.

But the missile cover switch has remained closed by mistake.

Is this behaviour correct?

What is missile cover switch?

Front panel, sight doors switch beside the missile power on switch.

Ok. Reading the Russian manual seems to be an optional steep.

OK, thought that might be the one. If you look in F2 view, you'll see that there are actually two covers on Raduga sight. Metal one, controled by OBSERVE switch and glass cover controled by Sight door switch. Glass cover is used as protection of sight glass, but it's position does not affect operation of ATGM system. Between Sight doors and Missile power, there is a switch marked Blow, which will blow air on sight  glass/transparent cover to clear any debris. Again, does not affect system as whole.

I may be wrong, but I think I read that the inner "glass" is not a regular glass and let the infrared from the back of the missile lamp pass through for the sensor to guide the missile with Radio Frequency and you have that intermediate glass cover to protect it while you are just spotting targets and both of them let visible light pass through.

And I also think this is not implemented so you can guide the missile with the glass cover closed.

Don't know, but I stated current state anyway. So far there is nothing to show otherwise, so that is what I am going by. Since we don't have bugs/dust degradation, we might leave it open all the time
