How many bombers are there in mission 2

So while I never got close to the bombers on my first attempt, I did start to get lots of lag several km away, I'm playing in VR.

Just how many bombers(and escort P51s) is there in Mission 2, by default? And how many will there be if I choose the option for fewer places?

72 vs 20ish if you reduce the number at the beginning.

 

Lag may be due to many, many other things within the core DCS. I'm getting smooth FPS but occasional slideshow for no reason in any other missions...
