I think you can open the exe with visual C++ and set the affinity flags? Been a while since I meddled in programing...maybee someone with more expertise in this field can confirm or deny it?

Anyways, they will probably patch this in the english release....

I would be careful doing that Slayer, I burned an activation just using a tool that was meant to set affinity (ImageCFG) so poking around in the exe would surely do the same...?

Anyway I downloaded PriFinitty from the link above and tried it out (And risked another activation I suppose as well) I am running vista 32 sp1.

While it seems to work in the fact that I can set it as a favourite and set it to use 01 it does in fact go to 0 every bloody time thus forcing me to tab out and tell PriFinitty to go 01.... kinda defeats the purpose tho.

So for me it doesn't actualy work even tho it does seem to be ready to work.... tis a lie fraps tells me straight away :)

One thing of interest I did notice, when DCS.exe starts up it is 01 and stays that way for a bit, as the thing progresses into the loading it bombs back to 0.... Oh man that is irritating

What happens if you run out of activations? Don't tell me you have to buy the game again!

Hmmmm it is debatable what will happen. Some people say the developers were good with other sims and their activations running out and helped the individual but who knows. I don't think anyone has burned all 3 yet with BS.

It would be good if they did but honestly I knew there was only 3 activations when I bought it, it was cheap so meh. I am hopeing the western dvd box will not have such crummy limits as I have learned first hand how easy it is to smoke an activation while doing nothing underhanded.

Tried that, actually tried both for the hell of it (Prifinity and Affinity II). However it says it is set but is in fact not set. Fraps and task manager say otherwise unless I manually turn it on thus defeating the purpose. Well at least on my system.

Seems pretty straight forward so I can't see what I would be doing wrong so all I can say is "you lucky lucky bastard" :)

DCS.exe just switches on 1 core just before (or after?..) the "pause" screen. Just set affinity after mission start.

And no, there's no way to fix that unless running a background process.

You want the best? Here i am...

The SetAffinity II does definitely work.

Just open the SAII program, goto ADD, navigate it to your DCSexe. in your 1C folder. Once it is in the right hand program box of SAII, right click it and set your cores 0+1. Apply the changes and the go to the to the options tab.

In here put a tick in the three options and close.

There should now be a SAII icon in your right hand taskbar.

Launch the game and start a mission.

Once in the mission hit CTRL,ALT,DELT. and goto processes and check that there is activity in both CPU monitoring graphs.

Hope this helps.

Oh and thanks to the guy who first posted the link. ;)

Thanks DanKurt. Tried that way, also tried running BS, tabbing out, selecting dcs.exe in the left hand window and "adding to fav", selecting both cores with still no luck. Every time I started the game it would go back to 1 core.

I just done what I should have done ages ago, rebooted. Works great now:doh:
