Dunx Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 I am a Steam OB user. Steam allows verification of game files but does not remove unofficial files. Is there a way to identify unofficial files in the DCS game folders without a complete reinstall? Sorry I am not sure, I always assumed verify game files did remove unwanted files. If it does not you will need to ensure any unofficial mod or edit is removed manually before doing a verify 1 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? SmukY Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 Oh my bad. Then the most sure thing is to do a complete uninstall, manually deleting any leftovers. And mandatory usage of OVGME or some other mod manager after cleanup. 2 Helicopters don't fly, they just subdue the air. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Dunx Posted December 6, 2021 Author Posted December 6, 2021 Thank you guys. My concern is that Steam does not remove files officially removed by ED. The only mod I use is fholger's OpenVR_mod, which I remove/test/replace after each OB update. Ive always just blindly updated and repaired (non steam) Ive never seen anything but user and mod files moved to back ups. Id always assumed an update may add or modify something. Never considered it would take something away.
