I've noticed issues when attempting to close DCS over the last month I think where it just presents a blank screen to me and won't shutdown properly to my desktop. I check the Windows task manager and see DCS in a Not Responding state, and it just holds there. Is there anyone else experiencing this?

Some mission cause long periods of black screen and Syria can do the same at times but desktop appears after perhaps 30 seconds.

Is it every mission, some maps? How much RAM do you have?

MSI Tomahawk X570 Mobo, Ryzen 5600X undervolted on Artic Freezer E34 Cooler, RTX3080 FE, 32GB (2x16GB Dual Ranked) GSkil 3600 CL16 Trident Neo RAM, 2X 4th Gen M2 SSDs, Corsair RM850x PSU, Lancool 215 Case.

Gear: MFG Crosswinds, Warthog Throttle, Virpil T50CM gen 1 stick, TIR5, Cougar MFD (OOA), D-link H7/B powered USB 2.0 Hub all strapped to a butchered Wheel stand pro, Cushion to bang head on, wall to scream at.

I'm usually on an MP server for 30-45 minutes or doing an Instant Action mission on the Caucasus map, and running into this issue. Running on 16GB of RAM.

I can only suggest having a look to see if your have any RAM headroom. I believe 32GB min is recommended for MP.  I know Syria doesnt like letting go of RAM but Im not sure about the other maps. Even the caususes runs me over 16GB in my 2D settings with 2.7.8.  Run a repair? Fix the page file to 16Gb if you can?

I have noticed that it may take up to 45 seconds to fully close depending on the mission.

I only play SP and some of my missions have a lot of assets.

Those missions take longer to close than say a simple practice mission with few assets.

I haven't seen a correlation with any particular map, just with how busy any particular mission is.

To me it is a minor issue.

I am running 32Gb memory with my page file set at 32,768 (32Gb X 1024)

If you are running 16Gb, set your page file to 16,384. If anything, it really helps with the stutters.

Where would I set the page file? I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that.

Here you go. Tom's Hardware can explain it better than I can.   How To Manage Virtual Memory (Pagefile) In Windows 10 | Tom's Hardware (tomshardware.com)

When deciding how much virtual memory you want to add, multiply ~Gb X 1024

You can match your 16Gb (16,384) or double it if you like (32,768.) It will take up space on your drive. Make sure you have enough room.

Is your DCS on a separate drive or on your C drive? If on a separate drive, increase both the same amount.

Let me know how you do.
