So I recently sold my house and am now living in an RV.  Don't feel bad, it was totally by choice.  But in doing so, I have had to stop playing DCS as I cannot seem to figure out how to get any kind of solid setup for flight simming in my own tiny space.  Does anyone have pics or ideas for a compact but steady setup?  I have the CH fighterstick HOTAS and CH pedals.  27 inch monitor.  Track IR.  I am really starting to miss my Mi-8.

Wow... things people are doing to raise some funds to buy a 30xx series graphics card. 😉

Jokes aside - some photo's and/or more information about your RV environment may help. I'm not sure whether monstertech hotas mounts might work or not in your environment.

No, no, no  this is not right. You need to fly the Hip. Its the law.

I have to use the living room in my tiny house so have a pack away kit based around a wheel stand pro. Its very cut down now on what it was but, in the past Ive used the central bar to clip a second monitor onto  instead of the base for the stick and mounted the stick, with an extension lower down. I guess it could be used for the primary monitor also. The trottle is located on the optional extension arm.

Below is an old picture of it.

Ive got rid of the screen now and I use a goosneck mobile phone arm clamped to the riser to hold the TIR camera which is so much more flexible than having to try an place the flimsy thing on a monitor that may not be in the ideal position. Im gonng to get another to mount the keyboard to. I use a cheap camping chair as this is also foldaway. The cheaper the better Ive found as the mose expensive ones tend to be bigger.

The arm is one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S8G38J6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which Ive found to be very stable and just the right length for the rig.

Current downside is the mouse as this just kinda rests on my leg but there are a 101 solutions for this that Im too lazy to do. Te kit isnt light either but does come apart to pack away easily which helps.

It all runs to a powered hub also mounted on the rig to reduce set up faff (so just one cable from the pc to the hub. Without the monitor and seat, the thing takes up about at 3x2ft space with pedals, throttle and stick. All in the floor space taken is about 4 1/2 ft by 2ft.

All you need is a chair and VR 😄

43" square cupboard, full flight and driving sim rig set up permanently, either vr or pancake with a kinect on headtracking duties.

Admittedly not a lot of room for anything else but I've maximised usage of space and tweaked it specifically to simming.

Thinking about use on the road (just finished converting a LWB sprinter into a 6 berth family holiday bus) I would consider making up a wooden subframe that will sit on an existing seat/bed to hold the stick and throttle.  With a bit of ingenuity it could be a fold out wooden box with everthing bolted in place, unfold, plug in and fly.  VR obviously lends itself to the restricted space but as long as you can get a monitor in the right place then no reason why a trackir solution shouldn't work.

Live full-time in an RV myself. Rented out the house for a few years until we knew that we wouldn't kill each other living in such a small space (RV). Sold the house late last year when the property value here in Oregon skyrocketed. We primarily made this decision (moving into an RV) due to finding a private RV community to live in that is super cheap and in a beautiful area. Since our expenses are now so low, we are able to put approximately 85% of our income away into savings. I live in a 40 foot 5th wheel and I had basically 2 options for my desk setup. I could take out the couch that sits in the tail end or remove the dining table. We never eat at the table so I decided to go that route. Put in a powered sit down/stand up desk where the table was and it works great for us. Wife uses it since she has been working from home during the damndemic and when it's my turn I move her sh** to the side and set up my HOTAS & pedals. Thinking of going the VR route in the near future but for now use a LG 48" OLED as a monitor.

After adding the desk but before having the LG OLED as a monitor:

skip to 4 min mark for interior
