JG-1_Vogel Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 I know this is a bit early, but when the time comes and future modules are released i.e. DCS:Frogfoot or whatever they want to call it :p. Will clients in MP be able to pilot say Ka-50 and Su-25's? Will each module be stand alone or will it be possible to have a mixed group. In the 159th like a lot of sqn's we have a fighter wing and a strike wing... it would be a real shame if people were restricted to a single airframe in the future after other modules are released. If anyone would be able to clear this up it would be great. 1
Maverick-GER- Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 LoneWolf as far as I read so far there will be several modules and they will all be mixable, the only restrictions are if you only have dcs Black Shark you will only be able to fly the shark, but you will also be able to join servers that are running dcs black shark and dcs hog for example you are just not able to fly the hog. That's how i understood it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] F-14 Tomcat Rest in Peace (and hopefully get reborn in DCS!) (Dream came true about 10 years later, now the Apache please )
Jester_159th Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 I asked a similar question a little while ago (can't find the thread now) and from what I was told by either JimMack or GG, that's pretty much the plan at the moment as I understand it. Maverick's spot on. I guess it may be better to see what happens closer to the next module release though..... I'm sure ED will be able to give us more definite info when the time is right.

That's how i understood it. So did I. Yes you have to purchase the module to be able to fly the featured plane. I'm just curious how they will update the engine. For instance, when they improve the shader programming, will every clients graphics be updated? The then quite old DCS: Blackshark as well? Would that really work? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Maverick-GER- Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 well i guess that would be done by a patch for older modules and those newer DCS modules would incorporate that patch already.
