  1. Working like a charm I contacted him maybe a week ago and placed my order, i gotta say a very nice and helpful person doing a great job!! my throttle was spiking so much that i had 3 throttle options... 0% 100% and everything in between whatever my poti chose =) got the mail yesterday, built it in in like 5 minutes, plugged it in and it worked perfectly!! NO spikes perfectly smooth from 0 to 100%!! I wanna thank you again for your help and now i can go for the oculus rift s before getting a warthog... since my cougar is like new again :megalol:
  2. ahh picture now showing =) Now your words make sense lol
  3. That's why the smarties from ED included a extra little window that will open with RCTRL+Enter i believe where you can instantly see where your controls are right now... So they actually did something for us non FFB joystick users! But if you ask like that ... how realistic is it to sit in a heated room on your computer chair with cheap controllers on your desk staring into a monitor, flying a russian attack helicopter and if you crash you just hit on refly?
  4. ??? Don't get it... someone here to translate?
  5. well just pull the 2 red levers on the left and switch generators and batteries off... should be enough then wait around 3 minutes i think it takes for repairs and then switch on gorund power if available, generators and battery and start up the engines again. or land and use the auto shutdown =) and after the 3 minutes the auto start (shutdown is same sequence as autostart just with "end" instead of "home" )
  6. NOpe no way to tell them get away from me i wanna take off lol but if you switch the spu 9 radio communicator selector back and you are not on interkom anymore you at least can't hear them saying that to you =) You should e able to repair it this way... land, turn everything off , wait 3 minutes and start everything back up.
  7. Well Vortex Ring state has more to do with your rate of descent than with your airspeed! And sure in nav mode you also have that displayed on the hud but your thread was about airspeed on hud...
  8. Well it is harder UNTIL you learned to trim right! Well that's a bit misleading.. since you still use the Autopilot for dampening... so let's say with FD on your using only a part of the Autopilot!
  9. Amen!!! 'What do you need to know the speed for? even for rocket or gun attacks you dont need that information.... In case of rocket attacks you fly in (and you usually dont go too fast there anyhow) fire your rockets, turn away and fly back to cover. And if you plan on hitting with your rockets you would only stare at the target and that freakin pipper anyhow to know when you can finally release your babies!
  10. FD and Routemode are 2 different things... routemode = Like the autopilot in Fixed wing aircraft but no need for FD with it.
  11. Ok now specifically to your questions mrtube: That would be normal flight That's how real pilot are ordered to fly their ka-50s =) And that's in my opinion also the way you should fly it mostly in DCS (But I know there are a lot out there not sharing my opinion) It sure is harder to fly this way than with the FD on but once you know how to trim right and once you kinda do it automatically you will have no problems with this flight mode! No autopilots on but FD on = no effect except that your hud changes lol! The combination of both would be the FD mode ... well first what does the autopilots do... if you have the 3 "main" autopilots on (heading hold, bank and pitch hold) the autopilot will try its best to keep your helicopter in the last trimmed position! That means if you move your stick without pressing the trimmer you have to move it over 20% to kinda override the autopilot and therefore you are fighting it! How it should be done is you hold down the trimmer button, move you helicopter for a new heading, pitch or bank and once you are done you release the trimmer button, then you got no fight with autopilot! Ok now what does the FD mode do? With the autopilot channels and FD mode engaged, the autopilot will not try to get your helicopter in trimmed position but it will only dampen or let's say stabilize your helicopter... which means with all autopilots and FD off your helicopter will twist a bit here shake a bit there and so on and all that twisting and shaking and stuff like that will be dampened (so much that you actually dont feel it anymore at least in the sim) And i can tell you i use that flight director for close up fighting where i will have to change directions a lot. By the way the same as FD can also be achieved by just holding your trimmer button down. Trimming should be done for every change in flight! You can definately not trim too often! If you dont trim you have to fight the autopilot and you ont want to do that since flying, fighting the autopilot and maybe shooting at stuff is a bit too much =) So it is as easy as this if you trim you fly with the autopilot if you dont you fly against it and flying against it is something you shoudln't want!!! Well since you should have your autopilots on all the time you only trim with them on =) But with FD on trimming is kinda not neccesary in my opinion! No you do not need to fly without the Autopilots i mean it's like punching yourself? Why would you wanna fight the helicopter by not using autopilot channels??? You should fly it not fight it! So learn it the right way with a lot of trimming and autopilots and FD you can use also ! What are you sorry for that's what forums are there for right? Better to ask beforehand then learning it all wrong and being screwed with that later =)
  12. well in my opinion people having trouble with the AP are just not trimming enough or right... I myself have no problem with trimming and also no problem at controlling the ka-50! And I am not fighting the Autopilot as you state here, the only time i would fight the autopilot would be in close combat but i get around that by either holding down trimmer or engaging FD Mode... Trim often and Autopilot is your friend, if you are too lazy to trim fly with FD!
  13. Are you kidding??? He bought a English DVD with Russian language and english subtitles! not a russian version! Read before you answer!
  14. well womble i 100% understand that you are upset that there is too much russian language in a english release especially for those who take campaigns seriously... and well the deployment campaign is what you usually start with... asking for a refund because of that is a bit too much in my opinion tho... As mentioned a lot of times before english with russian accent would have been the best thing! Regarding subtitles in movies... well there is a big difference... a movie I am just watching and got enough time to read those subtitles... in a simulation where i have to concentrate in flying, watch the surroundings and keep everything under control reading subtitles isn't a funny thing to do! Russian language for immersion... well only if you understand russian... well yes it's a russian helicopter but heck I am not russian (and dont want to be lol) How can reading text be more immersive than understanding what command or wingmen are telling you?? ok well anyhow it really is anegative point on the deployment campaign, luckily it is short anyhow, would be worse if it would have been like that in a long dynamic campaign lol! @soup55: Well maybe he is new to Flightsims or was sceptical about DCS BS already? Maybe that little issue ruined his fun? Sometimes it doesn't take much to dislike a Software! @GGTharos: What module of DCS are you using??? I didnt see any bomb bays on a Ka50 so what aircraft is it you are using rofl
