Hi

I have seen a few posts that say that the Virpil base is much better than the Warthog base (in particular the Warthog base has a very heavy spring) so I am considering investing in a Mongoose base.

I have a Dx Desk mount for my Warthog base I was hoping that someone would know if this is compatible with the Mongoose base or if there is an adaptor for it.  The mount was quite expensive and I would prefer it if I could reuse it.

Cheers!

No replies, so I thought better to point out - you'll be better posting this on the controllers / Virpil section:  https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/330-virpil-controls/

I have no idea if the Virpil Mongoose base has same hole mounting pattern as the Warthog base.
I believe the issue will have more to do with the screws than anything else. But I'd figure that it's easier to get new screws at your local hardware store, and maybe drill new holes on the Dx Desk mount (if it comes to that), rather than getting a whole new mount again.

The manual for the base below doesn't list the length of the screws going through the stock plate:
https://support.virpil.com/en/support/solutions/articles/47001156330--base-vpc-mongoost-50cm2-base-user-manual

But it seems to be М4х20 for the universal compact base plate.
Additionally, the thread pitch should be .7 so the screw would be a "M4-.7" metric screw in whatever length you need.
The WarBRD base also uses M4 screws, and are 12mm in length, I think.
The base screw layout seems identical, because people have been using 3D printed mounts originally made for the WarBRD base on the MongoosT-50CM2 Base.

In that case, it wouldn´t fit. I don´t have a Mongoose, but a WarBRD and Warthog base.
I just compared the two. The Warthog base holes are in a square pattern, 6 cm apart from each other. While the WarBRD base´s are rectangular, 7 x 11 cm.
