tflash Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Mission building definitely is back with Wags' great trigger system! Triggers is really what we needed, and it works! I would say we can "strictly come mission building" with the new, slick editor. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Francous Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Just a question what about placing objects "precisely" with orientation where we wantl.. to pretty much build a nice scenery .. it's even harder now since we lost the Satellite view. Would of been good to have something like in IL2 with the 3D view for much much better objects placement and mixed with LO/BS style. IMO
swepain Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 how does it work? can u do missions for multiplayer thats intersting or is it still thesame problem as in lockon... (put lots and LOTS of shajt in so u dont have to restart server every 30min just to change"mission") ?? dunno bout u guys but for me its all bout the multiplayer! It takes a fool to remain sane

It's functionality will continually expand. ED is quite aware of the unit placement problem (they've had to create entire campaigns, after all) and will attempt to reintegrate a Satellite View or other solutions ASAP. In the meantime, some suggestions that may help you with unit placement are to use trigger zones, the map ruler and infantry ground units to landmark your placement. Also, place units in SP, while testing their locations in MP - at the same time. For example, you can create a trigger zone sized to the area your ground units will cover. This will give you a good approximation of the overall size and relative distances. You can add an infantry unit with waypoints to landmark the perimeter or specific points (a square "route" 180 meters across will landmark a FARP). You can also use the map ruler to measure distances and angles. Finally, you can keep two DCS instances open, one single player and one multiplayer. Make adjustments in the ME in the single-player window, save and exit the ME. Alt-Tab into the MP screen and re-launch the mission to check results. Work pretty quickly. I would suggest you take the sim off of full-screen when doing this, but your mileage may vary. Edited December 3, 2008 by EvilBivol-1 - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy.
