Can someone remodel the AI airplanes? like the B-52, B-1B, C-17, they look awful and they are Iconic planes. If you scroll through the encyclopedia you will see how poorly modeled some of the planes are. Hopefully someone from ED will fix this or someone in the community.

ED is revamping the first two: "We are happy to provide you with progress on the new models for the B-1B Lancer, B-52H Stratofortress and S-3B Viking. These will be available free as part of DCS.", not sure about the C-17, lets hope the revamp will be ready soon.

Yea no offense, snails pace on ED and they have been touting the B-1 rework for over a year.  Ill believe it when I see it in game and on my hard drive, not isolated to only screengrabs and the yearly look but dont touch thank you "Keep Dreaming" video or whatever its called.

The mod community imo has keep this platform alive and vibrant with the hard work and time vested. Even beyond all of the constant lockdowns of files and encrypting and closed source throughout the years of the base code.

At this rate a community B-1, C-17, B-52 or even CH-53 etc. would make a drop far ahead of anything released by ED.

In all honesty and low poly aside.  ED just needs to subcontract Razbam, HB or anyone else to just create asset packs for the game or revamped LOMAC assets that are already in game in dire need of replacement. The only way anything will get done.

i agree totally , today i looked to the default AI C-17 from ED and is in my opinion a joke for all of those in DCS who like to make their missions, i said this too many times, ED is neglecting these "details" and they aren't details anymore this is huge after 15 years not having a  DCS core pack of these planes, the C-5, C17 and so on, i don't understand why? , the community has done a brilliant job, why DCS just don't buy these AI modules already from the creators and put then inside the core game, at this point is really a joke because these planes are fundamental to create missions and campaigns...ED are too worried with the F35 or the vietnam map when the main logistic aircrafts are being left behind? , and the sad story is they are already done by the community with a very acceptable quality, if users want to play certain missions they need to be doing this copy paste gymnastics and sometimes delete (users folder) so wont break the MP IC sessions. These packs should be available for so long, i have 4600h in DCS and with most of the modules and maps im getting tired of these  little things not being done right away (ye this could be instant if ED look at it) , is annoying at this point.  ED is speaking about the C130 for the dynamic campaigns for 4 years now? i don't believe at this point even after watching the "dcs 2025 and beyond" . Rudel those engine models look amazing ...why they are not already in the core library of the game folder? 2023 now is 2025 well maybe in 2030 they will be there, i love DCS with all my heart but DCS could be amazing and it isnt. This Sim needs some magic dust on top with the surroundings of a aviation war game. happy new years guys from Lisbon i really hope DCS this year gets these minimal details done already because the community creators have been the backbone of this Sim .

Sorry, but I can make my missions using the current ugly AI just fine.

Huge? really? ... to me this is just aesthetics.

First of all, the aircraft depicted are not the propriety of the Mod creators ... ED would have to acquire a license from the trademark owner in order to place, say, a C-5 on the Sim. Plus of course the task of adapting the Mod to work trouble-free with the rest of the DCS core, and the maintenance work in the future (testing that the AI still works correctly after every DCS update). As these AI aircrafts do not generate income for ED, you have to understand that they are then done at a very low priority compared to the rest of the development work done at ED.

Surely you realize that using this kind of terms is demeaning to the work that the people at ED is doing, other people could easily say that having such great expectations for a freebie is a joke too, isnt it?

The AI are there, having prettier versions is hardly a fundamental issue.

I use a Mod Manager, to easily enable/disable user Mods at will, the only inconvenience is that I have to restart DCS for the changes to take effect.

As I said, those are just aesthetics, and I don't know why they haven't been included yet ... perhaps on testing they found that the performance was too low on the lower-end PC of the average user?

Frankly, to me it is still amazing that we can have so much detail on a consumer-level software, DCS still blows me away every time I fly with it, no other Sim that I've tried cames close.

Best regards,

Eduardo
