AG-51_Endo Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 Apparently the super carrier (and by extension the Tarawa) comms don’t work with the exception of the inbound call. Please make it work! Would like a grade on my landings and clearance for take off!
sLYFa Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 I'm not familiar with the details on Harrier launch/recovery procedures but I'm sure they are very different from the CATOBAR procedures the SC uses, hence no point in using CATOBAR designed ATC with S/VTOL aircraft (i.e. the Harrier). AG-51_Endo Posted January 7, 2022 Author Posted January 7, 2022 It was there but no longer works. LSO is present but gives a failing mark for no comms. I think it was pretty simple. Inbound, see you at ten, request landing (case 1).

I appreciate that I can start on the SC with my Hornet friends but I have zero expectation of ground crew or LSO functions working for it as AFAIK no AV-8B has ever flown from a CATOBAR ship (I could be wrong).
