Mission 7 was very useful with lots of practical information that can be used during almost every flight. Learned a lot about the TAD, which turns out has way more functions than I thought. Great voice-overs again and also the example drops with the vipers was really helpful.

@baltic_dragonI ran into the following issues (timestaps refer to the video linked below)

12:15 Taxi (script waited for me to start rolling before continuing and giving taxi clearance)
30:08 Checkin with Blackjack, asking for clearance to ' Coyote Bravo, Charly, Delta and Caliente Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. (What are those? Not mentioned in the briefing or any map)
30:25 Given approval entry via XRAY (What is Xray?)
31:25 Wile E gives approval to 'Caliente Alpha, Bravo as well as Coyote Alpha, Bravo, Alamo Alpha and 61 Alpha and Bravo' What are those? Not mentioned in the briefing or on any map).
55:10 'Disabling a waypoint will also turn off the lines and labels and they will not turn back on when you set the waypoint to ON. In which case you will have to enable them manually'. I don't understand this.
01:33:31 Setting a WP 218 for 10 from Moapa. (Moapa is nowhere to be found in the kneeboard).
01:36:00 The F-10 radio menu help option to ask for explanation did not help finding Moapa.
02:00:35 Taxiing on Thunder yellow line, planes are parked too close.
02:01:03 Stopped at initial position but no Mission complete message.

Thanks!

All of these areas are listed in the normal F10 map and also in the briefing (Working Area). I know this is a training campaign, but we also said we're not going to hold players hand on everything, so you have to do some homework. Also, by now you should know where the Moapa is (as you went there in M1 and then waited for Biff in M5) - it is WP7 in your kneeboard, the name is different but cross - referencing with the flight plan, TAD or F10 map should be enough 🙂

Please don't take it the wrong way - writing all this just to show that many of the listed issues are intentional, i.e. we want the player to perform little extra work and not take everything for granted / presented in the kneeboard.

As for the waypoint - if you disable the waypoint, it will turn off not only the WPs but also the lines connecting them. If you enable displaying the WPs, it won't automatically display the lines, you will have to manually enable them. Usually you should have enough time before pressing the space bar to experiment with the stuff by yourself, which I strongly encourage!

Hi, I don't consider myself a lazy player and I take my time reading things through. I do expect the briefing and kneeboard pages to contain all neccessary information for navigation. Using an F10 map is not very realistic, so I also try to not use it during flight.

Yes I found the working areas the next day, when I looked at the separate briefing document which I found in the campaign folder because I was trying to see if there was another source of information. The working areas were not mentioned in the briefing provided when starting the mission. There were about 20 additional maps / kneeboard pages included with the mission, most of which were not relevant to the mission at all (are they provided by the campaign, or by DCS?) None of them contained a map indicating these working areas.

Regarding MOAPA: I hope you don't mean to say that not including the word MOAPA in any of the missions documents, kneeboard pages or waypoints/flight plan was an intentional issue to make me work a bit more. I had no way finding it while enroute. Even after using the menu to tell Biff I needed help I was not pointed towards Moapa. When I fly missions online and am asked to navigate to a waypoint that is not in the flight plan, I look it up in the mission database and if it is not there I look up the coordinates in the kneeboard provided. My FL never tells me that I should remember the waypoint because we had been there a week before.

XRAY was an entry/exit WP to the range I think, which was also not included as a waypoint in the mission.

To be honest - omitting Moapa in documentation was not intentional, I just didn’t think too much about it as I assumed it would be a familiar place for those flying around Nellis.

Again, apologies if my reply came out a bit harsh - I just found a new AI but that broke a mission I was working on for hours and wasn’t in the best mood. I really appreciate the time you take to provide feedback and will try to accommodate as much as possible in the fixes / updates so please do keep them coming!

cheers,

BD
