Depending on the light conditions, you can see many of those modeling artifact on the probe mount unit.

I think simple topology clean-up would do the job?

No.. far from it. If you see it in the game you’ll see it’s clearly related to shader/topology.

It looks like it is trying to replicate fuel spilled on to the Probe housing. Trust me these things are covered in fuel and hydraulic oil, some times as a gift we even get the basket still attached to the probe. Personally I think it looks more realistic with a little contamination.
