markturner1960 Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 As per title, can someone cleverer than me please give me a quick guide to how to set up to optimise for DCS and using VR, many thanks System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
RED Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 No advantage seen here on Ryzen. Your CPU will have two boosted cores and DCS will jump between them. No need to do anything manually.
markturner1960 Posted January 25, 2022 Author Posted January 25, 2022 Nice, thanks!! System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.
Willie Nelson Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 People much smarter than me have shown that it serves no purpose. Happy to be proven wrong. 1 i7700k OC to 4.8GHz with Noctua NH-U14S (fan) with AORUS RTX2080ti 11GB Waterforce. 32GDDR, Warthog HOTAS and Saitek rudders. HP Reverb.

Why does need to be proven ? try it yourself and come to your own conclusion it's a 2 minute job and you do not need process lasso to accomplish it. Edited January 26, 2022 by freehand
Vitallini Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 I just tried process lasso. I didn’t change much other than I right clicked the dcs process and turned of hyperthreading. That seemed to help quite a bit for me. I haven’t done a measurement, but it also seems to reduce stutters on my end. There was some automatic optimisation active as well so not sure what’s what here, but I believe it is known that turning of hyperthreading helps with dcs performance and being able to do that just for DCS is easier than turning it on/of in bios I’d say.
