element1108 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 It was working perfectly before I sat down and watched Fred Clause (don't ask why). Tried loading it up again and the menu's etc work fine, but when i load the game (instand action, training, missions) it gives me the error message; "DCS.exe has encountered a problem and must quit, sorry for the inconvenience". Any ideas as to what might be the problem?
BoneDust Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Not sure but if you're using Vista try a reboot. Sometimes that cures those errors. :) Alienware New Aurora R15 | Windows® 11 Home Premium | 64bit, 13thGen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9 13900KF(24-Core, 68MB| NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX(TM) 4090, 24GB GDDR6X | 1 X 2TB SSD, 1X 1TB SSD | 64GB, 2x32GB, DDR5, 4800MHz | 1350W PSU, Alienware Cryo-tech (TM) Edition CPU Liquid Cooling power supply | Pimax Crystal VR
Acedy Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Can you please check if the crash generates any error logfiles? How to do that is explained in the sticky: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34016 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *** SERVMAN SERVER MANAGEMENT MOD V2 FOR DCS:BS V1.0.1 *** *** VERSION FOR FC2 ***
element1108 Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 Hey guys, I'm using XP under bootcamp but I think I had a virus because Lockon stopped working as well. Game menu's worked fine but crashed with the same error message (no error log) every time...and eventually no programs worked. The nice thing is I only use that side for sim's so a quick format and re-install fixed the problem. It actually worked in my favor because now the X52 twist stick applies gradual rudder...before it was a full right full left no matter how much input I added. Chopper is WAY easier to control now heheh. Thanks rogue programmers! Thanks for the attemps guys! I'm just happy to be back!
