DmitriKozlowsky Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) OLS overlay and VISIBLE meatball for Kuz 2017 Right now you have to fly the deck to land on Kuz. Meatball is invisible and there is no LSO. Edited February 2, 2022 by DmitriKozlowsky 2
sLYFa Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 Do russians even have LSOs? Russian carrier ops is such a mystery, there are zero docs on that (at least none I know of). i5-8600k @4.9Ghz, 2080ti , 32GB@2666Mhz, 512GB SSD
DmitriKozlowsky Posted February 2, 2022 Author Posted February 2, 2022 There appears to be an LSO platform on Kuz 2017. Kuz has a meatball, and AFAIK Russians are subject to same laws of physics and limits of human performance, as Americans. A pilot in SU-33 or Mig-29K has even less visibility then Hornet or Tomcat. So an LSO is a necessity. US Navy has this weird rule. Almost everything safety related is unclassified or low classified. NATO Naval aviation share NATOPS, so deck operations of US Navy, Royal Navy, France, Spain, Italy are same, adjusted for each ship. Chinese just copied USN CV deck operations. Indians copy British, which share NATOPS with USN. I figure Russian NATOPS for deck ops are similar.
Hinkey Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 Having a visible ball would be great. Should probably be considered a baseline requirement for a Supercarrier module asset.
