StreamDeck XL & Snap Views

Apart from having a hell of a time with Snap Views and setting them up, is there a way to setup a snap view, for say the GPS/NAV system on the UH-60L and pressing a button on the SD XL, and have it stay on the Snap View until I say press the button again

I believe the problem is that DCS/Streamdeck have some disagreement behind the scenes on what defines the Left Win key. For whatever reason, DCS only seems to recognize any definition of the Left/Right Windows key as plain ole' Windows.

My workaround to this was to rebind all the Snap Views to also be "Left Shift + Numpad X" in addition to "Left Win + Numpad X."

Then, you need to install the BarRaider SuperMacro plugin from the official Elgato plugin store.

After that, go to Super Macro [BarRaider] in your plugins and select the Super Macro Toggle option.

The basic idea is that we need to make our first press of the button hold down the desired key combo (in this case, "Left Shift + Numpad1")

• Make your primary macro: 
  • {{KeyDown:LSHIFT}}
    {{KeyDown:NUMPAD1}}

Then we set the secondary macro (our second press of the streamdeck button) the command to release the desired key combo

• Make your secondary macro:
  • {{KeyUp:NUMPAD1}}
    {{KeyUp:LSHIFT}}

After that, scroll down a little and select the checkbox "Don't treat "New Line" as Enter.

That should do it! Now you can hold snap views with one simple streamdeck button press. Very handy.

Longtime passed, but it does not for combinations with the Win keys ... this is the wrong super macro, use the toggle one, same looks,

and select don't treat new line as entry.

ADDED feb 19th 2025:

Meanwhile i got a secondhand Razer tartarus v2 for macros, the win keys sent from it work fine.

Drawback compared to Streamdeck is only that you really miss the programmable individual button displays. Little sticker making time again
