Having an issue with the Varjo Aero andthe  helmet-mounted displays in the Hornet, Viper, and Warthog.  The display shows up below center and only available in the right eye.  I normally fly with it in the right eye but because of the position low of center and only in the right eye, I thought I would try left eye or both eyes. Those selections don’t change anything. The display only shows up in the right eye and below center. Would appreciate any help with this issue.

Hi,

the team have a Varjo Aero in the office and have been working on improvements for a future patch, I will mention this post to them.

Please wait for the next open beta patch, we have some changes coming for varjo and native support.

thank you

Any word on this fix?  The VR bug mentioned in another thread ( for which —force_steam_VR worked as a workaround) showed the HMD displays in different aircraft correctly but with the low resolution of the bug.  The workaround reintroduced the HMD bug, including in the Apache.

can you take a screenshot of the issue for me so I can show the team

thanks

I tried to screenshot it but it shows up normally in the screenshot (from the monitor).  That said, I tried to approximate what I’m seeing in VR and took a picture using my phone.  If you’re looking thru the HUD in VR and turn your head to see the HMD display, the display appears in the lower half of the VR display, requiring me to look WAY up to get the HMD display where I need it. The attached picture seems to show it slightly higher than it shows in VR.  This is the same for all HMD aircraft (F/A-18C, A-10C, F-16C, AH-64D).  I’m not really sure how to get a screenshot of what I’m actually seeing in VR.  Again, with the low-res bug that appeared with yesterday’s update, HMD displays appeared normally.

I have the same issue with the HMD display positioned too low in F16 and in apache it is lower than I would expect. I have VR-3 varjo

As an addendum to my post above, I’ve started flying the Apache more since it was released.  Regarding the HMD (monocle), it is displaced in the Varjo Aero low enough that the base (terminology) that houses the projector lense is not visible.  As with the other aircraft that have HMDs, this issue is quite annoying and detracts from the immersive intent of the devices in VR.

Hi

I had the same problem with my Aero, you need to flip the lenses from top to bottom. What i've just said doesn't make sense but click on the below link, follow the instructions and it will fix it for you

https://forum.dcs.world/topic/292574-varjo-aero-distortion-warping-in-dcs-fixed-for-me/?msclkid=3410456ea9cd11eca0995cfb84703720

This is a completely different issue.  I’m not experiencing any distortion in DCS with the Aero, just the HMD data being improperly located within the normal field of view.  You can see the vertical displacement between the HUD data and HMD data in the screenshot I posted above.  They should be even vertically when moving your head left or right without moving your head up or down.  Again, no distortion.

It’ll be another week before I can get to this but I’ll give it a try.  Hopefully this will fix my issue.

Thanks!

Finally got home from vacation and eagerly applied the above fix to my issue, the topic of this thread.  I’m very happy to report that it worked!  All HMD data displays correctly in the proper line of sight within my Varjo Aero.  Thanks for posting this fix.  Much appreciated!
