Revisiting this. I find petro is better and more accurate when within range. However, his night vision is non existent. As pilot, i can apparently put on night vision but he apparently can't. If I'm in a dawn mission, I have to wait. Hopefully can be tweaked in the future. I realize this isn't the AH64 with heat vision but seems Petro should be able to see better.

I will try the illumination rocket method mentioned above and see how it goes.

It would be interesting if he could spot with Mk 1 eyeball, but currently all spotting is done through the periscope. And you can’t use NVGs with the periscope.

Funny enough in Cold War the west though the periscope was a LLTV/FLIR sensor. No idea why they thought that except….. since the missiles are SACLOS…. There is a split mirror in the periscope that sends an image copy to near IR sensing photo diodes. These photo diodes detect where the missile IR beacon is in the FOV for the purpose of tracking and commanding the missile to manuever the correct direction.

The actual hind never had NVG's. Petro doesn't have them, and even if he did he couldn't really use the sight with them.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

The ground AI has some serious laser-like sharpshooting ability in the same low light condition

Especially the AAA is initially too accurate, talking mainly about first encounter and situations of surprise.
This is problem and I don't know why ED is not simply fixing this, should be fairly easy.

One of many qiuality of life improvements that are needed.

This isn't a complaint thread but merely one to record observations

The biggest problem I have with Ivan is his permanent bread-mode.
Rooster can be quite stupid sometimes as well, not stopping to call me 50nm bandits close to a merge when I cry at him to shut up, but what I am missing in the Hind is that at least he is suggesting me the next target can calling out some MANPAD if he sees it. Just some little small smart things, that would be so great.
I know he is WIP, but I don't understand why programming some F-16 bleed air door logic or flat hat rivets have priority over such things that make flying some modules a bit frustrating sometimes.

Sorry for the rant
