Stretch Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 In the briefing you are told to maintain position behind and to the left of the S-3. As the flights join up, there is no room to the left, only to the right. I tried to fly to the left of the S3, and my -2 collided with one of the Moonshadows and they both perished. Plenty of room to the right, though. fumap Posted March 15, 2022 Posted March 15, 2022 I didn't have this issue, you are briefed to fly slightly left and in front of the S3, this means you need to leave some space between your formation and the Tron guys. If you see where the other Sledge F18 are, you will see what it's meant, you can leave quite some space between you and the S3. fumap MY SYTEM: Intel i9-12900K / Asus Maximus Z690 Apex / 32Gb Corsair Vengeance 5600MHz DDR5 / Asus TUF RTX3080Ti OC / DCS on Intel 900p 480GB / Watercooling loop based on EKWB - Triple 360 Rad
andhog Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 I have failed this mission twice now for unknown reasons and I am also a bit confused regarding the formation. Yes in the brief it says you're supposed to fly in front of the S-3 but on the kneeboard card it says you should follow it. I'm my two attempts I've been flying to the left and behind it and it doesn't keep the ground speed stated in the mission brief so if I where to fly in front of it and at the briefed GS I would run from it.
baltic_dragon Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Hey! It doesn't matter where you are, it is just important that you DO NOT get above 1000 AGL (even if AI sometimes does, this is out of my hands...) Also, don't use auto start, as it enables the radar at some point. Just fly in a loose formation from the S-3 and stay below 1000 with no emissions and you should be fine! 1 For more information, please visit my website.
