My Thrustmaster F18 Hotas does not work in the F15?

Hi everyone!

I just bought Flying Cliffs yesterday and every plane works well with my Thrustmaster F18 hotas, except for the F15... I can not fly the plane with that stick. It does not move or register any input from my stick. The only way I can fly the F15 is with my keyboard or with the trimmer switch on the stick....

I tried to find a sollution online but I can only find things around 2017/18 with the same problem. A bit weird that I have this problem in 2022. I have the latest DCS and use DCS open world Beta.

I hope this can be resolved soon as I love the F15.

Kind regards,

JON3Z!

I searched as well, and couldn't find anything which looks like what you found. Would you be willing to share an example of a solution from 2017/18?

Your post makes no reference to checking the control bindings for the controls and module (F-18 Hotas? The Warthog with the F/A-18 Grip?), did you check the bindings? DCS has arguably the best control setup of any pc flight simulator I've ever seen. It will take some effort to learn and use (if you've never managed pc controllers before), but it is incredibly powerful.

Let us know how it goes!

Hi and thanks!

Yes I use the Warthog F18 Hotas from Thrustmaster. I checked my binding for the F15 not for the F18 ( hehe) And It sees my Thrustmaster Hotas but it just does not work for the F15. As I said the Hotas works on every plane I had from Flying Cliffs but just not for the F15 while it should work... I thought only people with 1.5 had this problem ( that is what I came across from posts 2017/18) That was helped by either deleting Flying cliffs and reinstalling *which i did* or waiting for a 1.5+ update. Well im on the latest version of DCS in Open world Beta 2.7 I guess but I have this problem now...

Also I just tried dogfighting with the Su27 and Mig29 but when I have a target lock and even use target lock override or missle overwride ( dont know the correct sentence) but it wont let me fire a missle. I did the binding according to this video for the A/A dogfighting but can't fire a single missle.

At this point im feeling its more a problem with Flying Cliffs than my Thrustmaster Hotas xd.... Im sorry if my answer or post is a bit messy english is not my mother language. Hope I have explained myself well. Anyways thanks for even trying to help me ❤️❤️

Try holding fire button for about 1s to launch the missile. Also make sure you use correct binding. There are two: weapon fire and release weapon. Depending on aircraft the missiles are launched by one of them.

Go to F-15C controls and select axis category. Move your stick to see what bindings are triggered. Remove any double or unwanted bindings.

Draconus,

Thank you so much for replying to my problem. You were right about the Mig/Su missle fire... I had to hold the button longer. ( I am still a noob ) Anyway I tried again with the F15 and all the buttons and everything I have mapped for that plane. But It still does not work... I even deleted the Flight controls for keyboard In the hope that it would use my Thrustmaster stick as flight stick but it did not work 😞

I also rescanned my devices again and DCS reads my Thrustmaster Stick just fine, as I said I can use it in every plane to fly and maneuver except for the F15. Hope I find a sollution soon because I want to fly it really bad haha. All the other button mappings for the F15 work just fine, ( landing gear up/down, Radar on, ECM on, Different Bore modes, trimmer controls etc).

I'd like to ask you to do that again, @JON3Z, and upload the screenshot.

@draconus....

I think I am blind, stupid or both because I just went back to the page and compared it with my Su27 or F18 and I saw the Pitch and Roll were not binded... I can fly the F15 like an eagle now. Problems solved, thank you so much ❤️
