So I have found that sometimes when I get in an MP server, the mission is paused for me. Chat is working ok, and other people say they are flying OK.

I exit and restart BS, but same thing.

Odd.

Most probably that you have 10308 UDP port blocked by firewall software. Both 10308 TCP and UDP ports should be open.

we had the same issues with some players lately - the solution was to enter the needed port manually after the IP adress.

check if there is the correct port written after the IP - sometimes BS tends to set a wrong port, no idea why...

if you just choose a server from the list and click connect, you will see the ip listed like XX.YY.XX.YY:4060 -> change that to XX.YY.XX.YY:10308.

if the window does not appear (don't know if it shows that window on servers without password), just enter the IP manually ("connect IP directly" or something like that) and it should work.

and for sure, you have to forward that port in the router...

I've seen this problem as well, and so have others I play with regularly. This only happens to me when I connect to a server showing the wrong port when they're actually hosting on 10308. I enter 10308 and get in to the server, then it appears paused when it's not.

BTW, this only happens on select servers, namely those showing the wrong port.

I have analyzed some of the traffic from servers I can connect to successfully. These servers send both TCP and UDP packets in large amounts to connected clients, with the majority of traffic being UDP.

Servers which show the incorrect port on the server browser do not send UDP packets of any kind to the clients that connect. This seems to be the cause of the 'pause' effect.
