It's less about wallet (if you can afford a 3090 at today's prices, you can afford a whole lot of industrial hardware) and more about the way they're sold. A government or corporate contract is typically much more complex than just "pay for it and take it home", they usually include things like product support, sending techs for installation and a whole bunch of legal stuff. Not to mention, they're meant for simpit use, but that's not the problem for the most dedicated among us.

I bet that thing costs the government 10x the price of a 3090 GPU.
