Sr. Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 While I understand the concept of having a recentering spring, I wonder if the action of the pedals is better with the add-on damper only? Hiob Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Without the damper, a springless setup gives almost no resistance to your input. That can make fine control difficult, especially when your feet are fully rested on the pedals with no heel contact to the floor. The damper gives some "weight" to the pedals. I prefer to lower the dampening almost to its minimum though. Higher dampening makes the change of directions a little bit to rough for my taste. 1 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

Curious what level of spring tension you use with the low damper? When I fly Helicopter, I disengage the spring completely (which makes pedal trim obsolete as a side effect) , I made a small "mod" (basically changed the threaded rod for a strong zip tie) to do that quickly. When I fly fixed wing, I have a rather strong spring force applied.
