take off from ground... hot. wow. im an a$$. thank you!!

Take off from Ground hot means you can move it around the airfield. (Set it to client first, then drop it, then "start from ground Hot". Then put in waypoints and add weapons and fuel stores. NOTE: In the Hornet, Viper, Harrier, and Hwag, set each waypoint to GROUND LEVEL so your targeting pod slews to target at WP< not, 30,000 feet up. (6895ft as the case may be).

If you choose "Take off from Parking Hot" the mission will start with your aircraft in a numbered parking spot.

If you choose "Take off from Ramp" the aircraft starts cold in a parking spot.

If you choose "Take off from Ground" the aircraft starts cold from on the ground that isn't a parking spot, allowing you to move it around and point it in the direct you would like.

Remember to set yourself Waypoints to make the mission easier and more fun. In the Viper and Harrier, you'll want to place a waypoint directly on the airfield you're departing from, then select "Landfuelrearm" and WP 1 will be your home base. With the Hornet WP zero defaults to starting location.

If you are flying a TOMCAT. Check the box on the far-right tab, "INS Alignment Stored" if you don't do that, the Tomcat will require a full 8 min alignment on cold start. Furthermore, if you select "Start from Parking Hot" in a Tomcat, and you load it with a Targeting pod, and LGB's, you won't need to wait for the targeting pod to fully warm up, it'll be ready when you get in the jet.

NOTE: these setting also should be checked for aircraft starting on carriers or ships. "Start From RUNWAY" on a jet which is on a Carrier will start the aircraft on the catapults...all of them... which means if you put a hot started AI helicopter on a carrier... as runway start...it will block a catapult.

You can also start helicopters from ships like a Destroyer with a helipad, which makes from some fun, as I personally love ship landing helicopters.

If you have any other questions about mission editor, let me know, I'll answer what I can. We also usually have our own training server running, and you can get the password from people on discord. We have links to all the manuals and Chuck's guides in a channel listed by module on the discord, feel free to take advantage of that as well. On our squadron page we have a list of compaines sort of sorted, who make flight sim gear. I hope this all helps you have more fun in DCS.
