Mission 5 (Bad Moon Rising) Issue?

Howdy! Been enjoying the campaign so far. I sat down to play mission 5, and things were going well until I got the message to intercept and monitor the 8 migs. I reached the migs, flew past them, And they appear to just fly aimlessly forever. One climbed to 50 feet. One dove to the deck. After twenty minjtes, I didn't receive any further dialogue, and eventually just quit the mission. 

 

Is there a trigger I might have missed or something I might have done incorrectly up to this point?

 

Would love any input!

Thanks for the report. It's always worrying when a mission works for 2 years and then all of a sudden it doesn't. Let's try and pinpoint what may have gone wrong:

- Did you get the "<profanity>, 8 migs? This is gonna be hot" message? I assume you did

-Next thing should be a '50 miles' call from Elvis

- At 35 miles the migs should turn back

- Then about 50 seconds later the AWACS sends you back on station

 

Which one of these events was the last thing to happen?

Thanks for the reply! "This is gunna be hot" was the last message I got. I looked through the forum and as early as a month ago somebody completed the campaign just fine, so maybe I got unlucky. I'll give it another try this weekend and report back.

Interesting. Then all conditions are met for the next one as soon as you close in.  If you do decide to give it another try can i please record a video and send it?

Hey, I played the mission again last night and it went without a hitch. I got all the cues to turn back to waypoint 1, the head shut down, and the message war were declared. Not sure what happened the first time, was likely a skill issue!

I’m relieved to hear because I had no idea what could have caused it.  Perhaps you flew not toward the migs but some other radar contact, so you never got within 35 miles? Anyhow, happy it works now.
