FlankerKiller Posted May 3, 2022 Posted May 3, 2022 Currently armor are just sitting ducks, and ships are not fully able to defend themselves. The armor has some kind of trigger left over from the beginning of dcs to release some kind of "smoke". In thr reality of DCS it dose nothing. It just says that the unit has taken damage. Almost all tanks can fire a smoke screen. And they should be able to in game. I'm assuming that if a laser is detected, or a missile is seen inbound that they fire the smoke to blind the seeker. So something like that would be nice. Ships do have countermeasures just like jets. They have Chaff that they can fire off between them and inbound missiles. They also have flares to blind and confuse IR seekers. We know that the chaff has been used IRL to good effect. It's absence in DCS is noticeable. 1
Callsign112 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 +1 I really hope we see an improved smoke screen for armor soon. For ships I would also like to see depth charge capabilities added. 1
FalcoGer Posted May 24, 2022 Posted May 24, 2022 (edited) Ships also have smoke launchers. Also laser warners. Also CIWS can shoot down bombs, not just missiles. IRL that is. Edited May 24, 2022 by FalcoGer
