upyr1 Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 (edited) I was looking at this again today I believe it would take about 20 to 30 minutes to get an alpha-strike launched. How long would it take to get this launched in DCS? Edited May 16, 2022 by upyr1 1
Nealius Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Modern launch cycles take about 15 minutes. The question is, how many aircraft are launched in today's regular cycles vs. how many aircraft would be launched for an Alpha Strike.

An alpha strike is typically about half a carrier's aircraft load.
Nealius Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Okay, found out a typical cycle is 12-20 aircraft. I can't remember where I read/heard it takes about 15 minutes to launch (most likely one of the many Cyclic Ops guides floating around the forums here), but let's go with that. 2019 BuNo list for the Reagan is 49 Rhinos, 8 Growlers, 5 Hawkeyes, and a bunch of helos that probably wouldn't be doing much on an Alpha Strike (or would they)? So 20 minutes to launch half of that makes sense.
