So I’ve started looking through manuals and YouTube videos for the BIT test. My understanding of the BIT screen is that it shows what systems on the aircraft are identified and working as they should be.

however, before take off- should I be aiming to clear the systems with issues like DEGRADED or NOT YET TESTED. Is it okay to take off with the BIT screen showing outstanding tests?

At the moment, no. ED has yet to fully implement the BIT page, so some systems never test as operational.

IRL, I’m not sure what the correct process would be. I’d imagine there’s no-go equipment, for which the jet is grounded if not operational, and other equipment that is not critical, and BIT failures can be accepted. Probably depends on the mission too, actual combat vs peacetime training etc.

In the last century not all items had to be GO. Any FCS BIT that didn't pass was however a NO GO item. Usual procedure for a DEGD was to re initiate the Bit for that item.
