Orion throttle Q: Axis setting without SimAPPpro?

Hi guys,

I don’t want to use SimAPPpro. I can’t assign axis via the DCS options menu.

Does someone know how to use the sliders as an axis without SimAPPpro??

Looking forward to a solution.

Just assign them in DCS!

Ah well that's not possible, because DCS doesn't recognize them as sliders!

It does, you need to shove them from one end of their range to the other, but it should work. SimAppPro is useful for checking if they move right and calibrating them, nothing more.

Yep, do as Dragon1-1 says.  I have one of my WW Orion 1 sliders assigned to Zoom axis within DCS.

Hmm I guess something is absolutely wrong. I did move my slider all the way up and down, it is not recognized by DCS. But also not in Win10 (Setup USB game controllers).

If I install SimAppPro, I know I can assign them, but the app has some kind of bad influence on my VR

Any ideas?

Turn it off. It is well known for bogging down DCS, but if you kill it after making the adjustments, having it installed won't hurt performance. Just make sure it doesn't run on startup or anything. You don't need to use it for anything except initial setup.

The sliders might have ended up toggled to the 3-pos switch mode. You can change it in SimAppPro. I fly with them in buttons+axis mode, for max flexibility.

I thought just having SimAppPro installed was bogging down DCS. Going to re-install the app. Thanks

It's actually 2 lines that it will insert in the export.lau file (IIRC) in order to allow syncing of the AA and A-G button lighting that causes for most people a performance hit.  Check after you run the app to make sure it hasn't added them, and delete them if it has and you'll be good.

And after deleting, change the export lua to "read only".

Hi, you must be sure your throttle orion is NOT configured to 32 buttons, also check the two sliders are just like in the photo, to use like sliders , just put them all foward, you must see a blue line, also click on swich mode  to see only the blue line, not circle dots with numbers inside.
