F-16 aim 120 selecting target and locking

Hi everyone, I’m new here and I’m trying out the f-16. I am having a problem with using the aim 120, selecting target / locking on. In the training it doesn’t say what to use to use. I have watched videos and nothing has helped. I am using the Logitech extram pro, don’t have a hotas yet as I want to try before I go nuts and have my wife kill me.

welcome to DCS, it maybe worth having a read of the manual which can be found in your dcs install location 

example DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Doc

Also there are some great tutorials and walk throughs on youtube like this one

You're looking for "TMS up" (TMS = Target Management Switch, a 4-way switch on the stick). Bind that to some joystick button or to a hotkey on the keyboard.

He probably doing the right thing but the new radar update which made it into a gaydar is probably his issue. It just won't lock on to jack until bandit is like 15/20 miles away.

This does seem to be a problem.
