Track replays have become significantly less reliable since the most recent oben beta. Often the observed results of an engamenent are differnet from those at real time. I understand these are not 1:1 replays but as they certain seem considerably worse perhaps something has changed?

nothing has changed,

the track replay system is old and needs redoing, we know this, and it is planned for the future, I just can not say when.

Track replays work best if you keep them short and dont use script.

NP I wasn't expecting any fix just wanted to highlight it to you guys. In my short test missions (no scripts) the tracks have significanlty different results in comparisson to prev build.

It doesn’t take much of a change to alter a track replay. Any change to the aircraft you are flying could alter the outcome, if it alters where your aircraft would be in space. Even something as simple as a slight change in the coefficient of friction between the tires and concrete could mean you never make it to the runway, let alone take off. That’s the Achilles heel of the present replay system. A small change can completely  break tracks.

Thanks for the reply, yes this was understood before I made the post. As I was saying above I appear to be getting more extreme variations to previous patches. The post was made incase something had perhaps changed.

I expected latest updates to correct a bit of it, waiting with hope, but still not...
Even with the ED planes from genuine DCS (no mod at all) with the latest updates, I get so many changes in replay, I never could get even one video of the key instants of an interesting fight.
As far as I understand it from replay viewing (even more obvious when comparing tacview files of fight and its replay) the track files store some controls but not position-attitude and events (impacts, damages), relying on AI and physical computing to estimate intermediate replayed position.  Theoretically, it would work in a realtime engine, but it's not one.
Since tacview gets position data from DCS engine, I suppose these could also be saved in replay... strange.
Yet, while not storing all position-attitudes in the replay, maybe some key steps (used like i-frames in compressed video streams) would correct unexpected changes and would allow extracting more of the interesting parts of the track than the current replay tool does, stacking errors on errors.
I long for the replay update.
