Nealius Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 On an airstart mission and a trap, I raise the flaps, select BOMB then sweep to 68 using the throttle switch, and clear the angled deck. Once clear of the angled deck I open the wing sweep lever cover, and find that the lever is already in the 68 position. I raise the lever and zero my pitch trim, but the oversweep sequence never starts. I have to cycle the lever all the way forward, then all the way back to 68 to trigger the oversweep sequence, then I'm able to move it from 68 to oversweep. Previously I never had to do this. I recall the lever used to stay forward even after sweeping the wings back with the throttle switch, so all one needed to do was to open the cover, raise the lever, and sweep it to 68, wait for the lights on the warning panel, then move it from 68 to oversweep.
draconus Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 The correct procedure is to use bomb mode, taxi and then use emergency handle to 68° to begin oversweep procedure - there won't be a problem then. Even if you had it at 68° already you don't need to push it all the way forward. Just a bit forward and back will suffice afair. 2 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
