Vekkinho Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I'm just saying that 'til ED decides to include B-20 rocket pod that Coyote informed us of I see nothing wrong in users using Beczl's one! IMHO it looks better than the one from BS we currently have! Doesn't it?! In addition to that, please answer is Coyote's B-20 planned for use with good ol' FC 1.12?! Is ED gonna release it as a ModMan package for us to install it individually to FC? Now You can see my point 'cause everything Beczl released so far improves not only BS but LOFC too! And he asks nothing for it but a kind word! All negative critics of other peeps contribution can be sent in a PM with suggestions on what to improve and how to improve, reference data, facts and figures in general. We shouldn't be competing with eachother by disdaining! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

We shouldn't be competing with eachother by disdaining! And once again I repeat that having more polygons is not always better. I'm sure that B-20 rocket pod I've shown has less polygons but is more correct than beczl's one. New pod with new S-8 rockets will be included in patch. Remarks on beczl's B-20 pod: 1. not very precise general proportions of pod and its details 2. handles from the rear are small 3. walls of barrels are longer than needed 4. walls of barrels are too thick 5. not very correct geometry at the rear of pod, from the shorter side 6. rather poor texture Having a lot of polygons with inadequate quality and be satisfied with it is your full right. If ED thought like you we would have a lot of flyables having not very precise physics, not very correct models and not very correct avionics. BTW, it would cause bad framerates because of having a lot of hi-polygon models. Will it be convinient for you? diveplane Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 nice job Coyote. https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
Vekkinho Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Convinient enough! I like Coyote's photos and screenshots! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
beczl Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hi, @Coyote: Thanks your remark. I follow your remark and modified my B-8V20A. 1. not very precise general proportions of pod and its details Almost fixed. 2. handles from the rear are small Fixed. 3. walls of barrels are longer than needed Fixed. 4. walls of barrels are too thick Fixed. 5. not very correct geometry at the rear of pod, from the shorter side Almost fixed. 6. rather poor texture WIP. Thanks. 1

Vekkinho Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Now we're talking! I did not mean to insult anyone here, I'm just trying to help Beczl to provide us with upgraded, enhanced versions of LOFC 1.12 inventory! I'm sure ED already made it's call for certain models to be included in DCS patches and future modules but it leaves LOFC users with what they got ATM! So why not having a pro bono modeler to do something about it?! Regards all! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
beczl Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Hi, B-8V20A 3D model is finished ( I hope so :-) ) Texture isn't the final! It's WIP. And UB-16-57UMP-73 too.
Vekkinho Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Beczl, make textures a bit more dirty and scratched to create a wear and tear effect and make panel joints slightly more pronounced in textures! Those Coyote's photos are a pretty good reference. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

beczl Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 @ serj_3d Here you are. @Vekkinho Ok. I already work on it. :-) But it's quite difficult to me to make a good one. And the linked pics is amazing! Thanks.
beczl Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Hi, Ub-16's are available at the LockOnFiles and my site too. :-)
Lotham Posted January 28, 2009 Author Posted January 28, 2009 Roooh ! That's freaking awsome & beautyful !!! Lothamroth - www.Lockon.Fr - Vimeo Channel - Youtube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
beczl Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 @Vekkinho: Some dirt and scratch add as requested. :-) 1
serj_3d Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 mesh is very hard. IMHO. (UB-16-57UMP-73) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
NRG-Vampire Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Some dirt and scratch add as requested. :-) Every time better & better, nicer & nicer
beczl Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 @serj_3d: What does it mean "very hard"? Is it ok, or not? The corrected V1.1 version available from my site and available tday from LockOnFiles too. Changes: v1.1 - Corrected model shape and geometry - Reduce model polygon, triangles and faces - Corrected LOD (25m, 50m, 100000m) - Weathered and modified texture Many thanks to Coyote and Vekkihno to support and help my work and development. All the best, 1
serj_3d Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 (edited) F-16 have 15 000 poligons / Your mash is ok? To much polygons. Edited January 30, 2009 by serj_3d [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
beczl Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 F-16 have 15 000 poligons / Your mash is ok? To much polygons. Hi, Yeah I know. I try to reduce them, but this models shape are very complex. In this case almost all of my model poligon is higher than normal, but all of my model have a LOD. You mentioned the F-16. For example the F-16 or F-15 hasn't a LOD. What's the better ? 15.000 poligons only 0-25m range or 15.000 poligon 0-3000m? P.S.: I discussed a lot of player about my models detail. They're hate the ugly old "Flanker2" models and they're know my model "limitation" and "disandvantages" in connection with poligon nr. You have to choose which model is the better for you. All the best,
Vekkinho Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 The only Beczl's mod I use was the latest C-8. I usually fly MiG in LOFC so that's the reason as MiG can't carry anything else. But even with a 15K poly I noticed no FPS loss! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
