Tango Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Hi, :D Anyone else find that their wingman likes to fly into them? I find it is a particular problem when doing short stops with 180 reversal. He should maintain vertical seperation to avoid collision. Best regards, Tango.
arthuro12 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Oh i agree, annoying as hell.. thank god for immortal for training! just.. keep track of where your wingman is. and try to maneuver outward of him. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Peyoteros Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 That's why you have different type of formation. When flying to and back from the mission set "Cruise" formation, type in: #; F1; F6; F9. When about to go to the battle set "Combat" formation, type in: #; F1; F6; F10. That will keep your wingman in the safe distance from you. NullCharacter Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I've done some very aggressive maneuvers with a wingman to my side and have never collided with him. I've found they're pretty good at avoiding me. I wonder if this might have something to do with the CPU in your computer. I do know that in other games if you don't have a fast processor there are less computations done for the AI and that results in dumber actions/movements. I wonder if BS works the same way. Mxyzpylk Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I tell him combat spread right after take-off.
EvilBivol-1 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I too suspect you may be keeping your wingman too close. I always order the wing to spread out the formation ("combat") and have never experienced a collision. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. fox_111 Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 In close formation, my wingmens always fly too close. They even bumped into my rear on many occasions while I was in a hover... I think the AI should be tweeked a bit to improve their performence. They have a hard time keeping their position in formation (as in closing in too close and breaking out of formation). They also bump in each other and superimpose (bug). They should know to keep their distance, even if ordered to be in close formation.
SuperKungFu Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 hell who needs a wingman, I tell him to go home. More action for me :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
