How do I save the state of the mission while I'm flying it? I play the Altitude mission and always fail after 15 minutes. So I don't want to start from the beginning again and again! In Lock On this was possible when pressing ESC and choosing save state...

Strangely enough I flew all the way with de-icing on, but I'll try again tomorrow. Having an inflight saving-possibility would be nice though...

Well, finally managed to finish the mission. Isn't there a success-report? As I reached 50% of the mission I don't know if it is enough to end the mission successfully.

Is there really nobody, who knows about an in-mission save state?????????????????????

During your mission you can press your ' (apostrophe) key to bring up the mission results screen. This will tell you how you are progressing in your mission.

Also, the manual does not state anything about being able to save during a mission.

you cant save mid mission, but I guess you could get up to a point, exit from the mission, save the track...whatch the track, and take control of the track at whatever point?..would this work ?

No idea if this would interact with the campain engine, but presumably it would work in a single mission.

Good idea.... And NullCharacter: When I press that key it tells me 50% or 75% is done. But in the end there's no real success message. Well guess i succeeded as I didn't see a fail message.. :music_whistling:

Unless something got broke, you should receive a success message and a 100% score when everybody is back home over the FARP. Anything less is a failure I believe. I don't remember if there's a fail message.

There is no function to save the mission state.

Well yes then, errr, it was a failure: One Mi-8 was shot down. That might be the reason for the 50%. No fail nor success message though <- Could be improved in future patches. As well as a mission state saving feature. We already had that in Lock On guys!

Not all missions are going to show a message when you complete or fail. It's really up to the mission designer. In the absence of a proper message I will just use the percentage of completion to assess my performance with 100% being excellent and anything below being proportionately less.

However, in regards to dynamic campaigns, the percentage does have a distinct meaning. Score above 50% and you'll progress to the next stage. Below 50% and you will drop back a stage. Score exactly 50% and you will be assigned another mission in your current stage.

Yes, Lock On did have a mission save function. The problem was that it never worked very well.

As for the mission, yes, losing any member of the mission group will result in a failure. There may not be a Failure trigger programmed, I don't remember. There should be a success trigger, however, if everyone returns back. Success/failure messages are simply mission triggers that the mission designer can put into the mission.
