LIONPRIDE Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Wow found this on page 3 so technically this could be called a bump :) I dont see any mention of Black Shark on their site though ... I'm in the US, but so far West that an Australian team might better suit my Time Zone. Any Australian pilots joining from here? . - - - - - - - - TO FLY IS HEAVEN. ED Team Groove Posted December 30, 2008 ED Team Posted December 30, 2008 Moving to the MP forum :) Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
jimiC Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 im a quasi member of AEF (via a failed MMO that no one plays anymore) I've posted on the site about DCS but didnt receive much interest in MP. ANZAC ( a WWIIOL squad) has a number of aussies playing BS. We're using a server name standard as 'ANZAC' No. 1AVN regt. Any time u see that its gonna be me or another ANZAC hosting. All are welcome. Pm on the forums for passwords etc. We have a TS server we're using too. Also got 2-3 people from the aussie steel beasts community around too (SCLH) . All told i'd say theres at least 10 aussies that i know of playing BS and willing to play MP.
Fearless Posted December 30, 2008 Posted December 30, 2008 Yes, checked the site out myself but no mention of DCS-BS Fearless DCS: BS 2, DCS: A10C, DCS: CA, DCS-P51-D, DCS: UH-1H

AEFVigilant Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 (edited) Yes Ed, a sub-forum for BS was approved and should be up in the next few days. I posted here not expecting to get many replies, nice surprise really. Sorry jimiC (aka Chappy) but I also have to correct you on something regarding your AEF membership. You applied for AEF membership in August , but at this stage you are not yet a full member, and in fact AEF TCM have been trying to make contact with you regarding your initial interest in IL-2 & Armed Assault in '08. Probably a good idea to chase this up when you can, either way. :) To clarify on the DCS interest, you didn't get much feedback initially as Deigs was the only member following the development of the sim from the start, but had been providing updates. Now that it's in english, our simmers (mainly LOMAC & IL-2 pilots) have taken an interest in DCS:BS. An Orbat for members will follow. There will also be a Clan Warfare article on DCS:BS up on the AEF site in the next week to kick things off. This post was for those Aussies that want a home to share DCS in. Still early days yet ;) Edited December 31, 2008 by (AEF)Vigilant [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] “Courage is not the absence of fear. It’s feeling the fear and doing what you know you have to anyway.”
jimiC Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 (edited) i played armed assault quite regularly with some of the guys yep. this is probably better suited to the aef forum but seeing as you've made the statement, ill profer the response... not sure what you are correcting me on? i said quasi member for a reason. im fully aware i havent jumped through the various hoops set up for membership of the group. TCM contact has been limited to the initial email about VI (which i did do). No follow up has been recvd since august (which is fine, just letting you know) i did join AEF based on involvement with an MMO. that group effectively died off completely within about 2 weeks however due to the game failing. I even posted about it asking what was going on and got no response :) .. As a result there is/was/has been no real reason to actually be on aef vent since about september. Still happy to play with u guys in DCS but im not playing Armed assault at all anymore either and IL2 for some odd reason i cant get to work..ive probably slipped through the cracks mainly because potbs failed so horribly and the aef group on there fell apart. AEFVigilant Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 No worries then Chappy. Sorry to hear of your woes with IL-2, I had been hoping to see more of you but I can see why now. DCS now has a sub-forum to post in and a Team Orbat is not far away. Your guys are welcome to join us if they want and we will certainly to pop in on your server if you can PM the details. A public Vent channel for DCS is also likely to go up shortly too :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] “Courage is not the absence of fear. It’s feeling the fear and doing what you know you have to anyway.”
jimiC Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 good stuff. ill post the server details for you on the aef forum.
AEFVigilant Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Thanks Chappy. Deigs Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Great to see the interest in AEF from the DCS Australian community. I am also a member in the AEF and have been for a few years now. It’s quite a large clan that supports a number of titles, but DCS is what the simulator group is focusing on. (as well as BF2, BF2142, ArmA, IL2, CoD5 - it's a big clan) There is a good bunch of guys that have the game and we are learning and teaching each other how to use this thing. Sometimes the best way to learn is as a community. We use Ventrilo to chat over the net and communicate in the games we play. A DCS team is currently being formed, and I think it would be an exciting time to check out the clan as ideas are fresh and the team is new. We are all still very much learning the game and if you’ve just bought DCS and in the Australasian area then pop in and have a look around. http://www.aef-hq.com.au/aef3/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 161 Squadron Australia's DCS Community
Kurtz Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 After registering for the forum I searched the AEF sight for Blackshark and found very little except a review article? Is the DCS stuff in the locked member area? Its worth noting as well that the VAAF is also involved in DCS so there should be a healthy turn in the near future.

Sorry Kurtz you're right, the AEF DCS posts are only accessible by members and not guests I'm sorry, that's why we posted the Clan Warfare article for guests to the site. I did know about VAAF running DCS too, that's a great sign that the Oz DCS community is supporting Black Shark. The more the merrier I say! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] “Courage is not the absence of fear.
