Campaign - start cold and dark

Wags stated it in a thread a while back, though I don't recall which thread. A search might get you lucky, but it is a bit of a dig to go through all the false positive hits from the search engine.

I believe it was acutally one of the testers who stated that Matt had changed all campaigns to cold start. I read it also and it was from someone who works for ED, I just don't remember who.

You know F4 had a nice way of handling this. It would give you a choice before each mission of either starting on the runway with engines running or in the parking area cold and dark. If you choose cold and dark you'd start at an earlier time (in the game world) to give enough time to start the engine and take off and still make your IP on time.

 

Kind of put some preasure on you to really know the start up routine well though as there wasn't much time to fumble around in the cockpit and still get to your steer points on time.

Actually that is/was one very nice things in Falcon 4

I found it was very fast and easy to alter any of the missions to start "cold and dark" with the editor. Just click editor, open and change the option right there in the drop-down menu to change it. Then save the file overtop and done. Takes less than 10 seconds per mission.

 

I found "Night Patrol" to be the darkest start :)
